London, June 2025 | From 9-13 June 2025, the city of Nice hosted the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3), focused on “Accelerating action and mobilising all stakeholders to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”. The meeting brought together international leaders to advance SDG 14, with key milestones such as the ratification of the High Seas Biodiversity Treaty (BBNJ), the “30×30” target to protect 30% of the oceans by 2030 and the adoption of the Nice Ocean Action Plan, which includes voluntary commitments to address challenges such as plastic pollution, unsustainable fishing and the decarbonisation of shipping.

From the International Green Commerce and Trade Association (IGCTA), we express our strong support to the UNOC 2025 guidelines, promoting green trade, circular economy and the integration of environmental criteria in global value chains. Through international cooperation initiatives, technical advice and strategic alliances, we contribute to linking the development of international trade with ocean conservation, promoting concrete actions that transform global commitments into sustainable solutions.
