The International Global Trade and Commerce Association (IGTCA) recently conducted a trade mission to Bahrain, fostering economic collaboration and exploring investment opportunities. This initiative aimed to strengthen bilateral trade relations and promote sustainable development in alignment with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. The mission highlighted Bahrain’s strategic location as a gateway to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets and its robust infrastructure supporting global trade.

Notably, the trade mission included participation from 10 companies specializing in sustainable technology, logistics, higher education, real estate, and financial services. These companies, hailing from the UK and the EEA, engaged with Bahraini stakeholders to explore avenues for cooperation and investment.

Bahrain has implemented several concrete actions to address climate change. These include banning single-use plastic bags, regulating ozone-depleting chemicals, and establishing protected natural areas. The Kingdom has also launched the National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP), targeting 10% renewable energy capacity by 2035. Additionally, Bahrain is enhancing energy efficiency through the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP), aiming for a 6% reduction in energy consumption by 2025. These initiatives reflect Bahrain’s commitment to sustainability and global development goals.

To finalise, the program of the trade mission also included a visit to the F1 Grand Prix 2025, taking into account the FIA’s recent announcement about the  introduction of 100% sustainable fuels in Formula 1 in 2026, derived from advanced sustainable components such as non-food biomass, renewable feedstock, or municipal waste.
