ABOUT US

The London Blue Economy Roundtable is a strategic response to the momentum generated by the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) and its landmark Nice Ocean Action Plan. It will serve as a high-level platform to advance this global agenda by convening experts, policymakers, investors, and innovators to translate international commitments into implementable solutions. Through focused dialogue and practical collaboration, the Roundtable will spotlight pioneering research, scalable technologies, and innovative policy and finance mechanisms that can accelerate progress in sustainable and climate-resilient ocean economies.

This gathering contributes directly to the shared goals of protecting marine ecosystems, empowering coastal communities, and promoting sustainable economic development. The Blue Economy, or Ocean Economy, offers an unprecedented opportunity to align environmental conservation with economic growth and improved livelihoods. With over 3 billion people relying on ocean-based sectors like fisheries, tourism, and maritime trade, and trillions of dollars at stake, the urgency to address challenges such as climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss is clear.

The United Kingdom is uniquely positioned to lead in this space. With its robust maritime heritage and advanced research and innovation capacity, it plays a key role in shaping the global blue transition. London, as a global center for finance, governance, and technology, offers an exceptional setting for this pivotal conversation—bringing together actors from across sectors and geographies to chart the course for a more sustainable ocean economy.
