The International Green Trade & Commerce Association (IGTCA) participated in a working breakfast hosted by Canning House on 21 April, held in the context of the official visit of Dr Javier Martínez-Acha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, to the United Kingdom. The meeting brought together representatives from leading companies and organisations engaged in UK–Latin America relations.

The session provided a valuable platform for direct exchange between Panama’s diplomatic leadership and key stakeholders from the business and institutional community. Discussions focused on strengthening commercial ties, enhancing investment flows, and identifying opportunities for collaboration in sustainable trade and economic development.

Particular attention was given to Panama’s strategic positioning as a global logistics and connectivity platform, widely recognised as the “Hub of Hubs”. Anchored by the Panama Canal, and supported by major port infrastructure, the Colón Free Trade Zone, and a dynamic financial and services sector, Panama plays a central role in facilitating international trade. Its geographic location and multimodal connectivity make it a natural bridge between North and South America, as well as a gateway to global markets.

Panama’s ambition to further consolidate its role as a regional hub, while advancing sustainable infrastructure and green investment, aligns closely with IGTCA’s mission to promote responsible trade and sustainable economic transformation.

IGTCA’s participation in this high-level exchange reflects its continued commitment to engaging with government partners, industry leaders, and international organisations to foster meaningful collaboration and advance a global agenda for green trade and commerce.
