Aberdeen, October 2026 – More than 30 companies and organisations from the private sector, public institutions and academia gathered in Aberdeen, Scotland, on 21 October 2026, creating new opportunities for business cooperation, investment and sustainable international trade.

The gathering took place during the IV International Roundtable on Technologies for Sustainability, bringing together representatives from the energy, maritime, logistics, infrastructure and technology sectors. For the International Green Trade & Commerce Association (IGTCA) – The Green Chamber, the event provided an opportunity to strengthen institutional relationships, expand its international business network and promote new commercial initiatives.

Aberdeen’s economic significance reinforced the strategic value of the gathering. With approximately £15.3 billion in annual economic output, representing over 10% of Scotland’s economy, Aberdeen City and Shire remain an important centre for energy, engineering and technological innovation.

Across four expert panels and dedicated B2B meetings, participants explored opportunities for cross-sector collaboration, international investment and sustainable business development. The participation of H.E. Guido J. Martinelli, Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to the United Kingdom, further highlighted the potential for strengthening commercial ties between the United Kingdom and Latin America.

PANAMA 2027: CONNECTING BUSINESSES WITH NEW MARKETS

Building on these international connections, IGTCA announced its Trade Mission to Panama, scheduled for 12–21 May 2027, as part of its wider strategy to facilitate international business development and market access.

With an economy exceeding US$90 billion, Panama is a major commercial, financial and logistics hub connecting global markets. In 2025, the Panama Canal handled more than 13,400 vessel transits and generated approximately US$5.7 billion in revenue, illustrating the scale of the country’s international trade infrastructure.

The mission will provide a structured opportunity for companies, investors and institutions to explore commercial partnerships, identify investment prospects and establish relationships with potential business partners in Panama.

The programme is being developed around targeted B2B meetings, institutional engagement and sector-specific opportunities, including potential meetings with the Panama Canal Authority, the Colón Free Trade Zone, chambers of commerce and business associations.

Participation is open to start-ups, SMEs, established companies, exporters, investors and professional organisations, particularly those operating in energy, maritime services, logistics, infrastructure, innovation and sustainable technologies.
