A few days ago, the International Green Trade & Commerce Association (IGTCA) participated in the Maritime Convention of the Americas (MCA), held in Panama City, one of the world’s leading maritime and logistics hubs.
The Association was represented by its CEO and Managing Director, Juan Dávila y Verdin, as part of a broader institutional mission to strengthen international cooperation, sustainable commerce, and strategic engagement across Latin America.
Organised by the Panama Maritime Chamber, the Maritime Convention of the Americas brought together senior representatives from across the global maritime industry, including His Excellency José Raúl Mulino, President of the Republic of Panama, and His Excellency Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization.
The event also welcomed representatives from some of the most influential international maritime organisations, including the International Chamber of Shipping, BIMCO, INTERTANKO, and the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association.
Beyond its high-level institutional discussions, the convention provided an important platform for international dialogue, knowledge exchange, and commercial cooperation through a series of strategic B2B sessions and industry meetings. Discussions throughout the event reflected the growing importance of sustainability, innovation, resilience, and international collaboration within the future of maritime trade and logistics.
For the IGTCA, participation in the convention represented an important opportunity to continue building bridges between the public and private sectors, strengthen international institutional networks, and explore new opportunities linked to sustainable trade, green logistics, and responsible economic development.
Panama’s strategic position as a global maritime and logistics centre continues to make the country a key platform for international commerce and regional integration. The MCA demonstrated not only the strength of Panama’s maritime ecosystem, but also the country’s growing relevance within wider global conversations surrounding sustainability, connectivity, and the future of international trade.
The International Green Trade & Commerce Association congratulates the Panama Maritime Chamber for the outstanding organisation of this important initiative and reaffirms its commitment to supporting future editions of the Maritime Convention of the Americas.
The Association also extends its sincere gratitude to the Embassy of Panama in the United Kingdom for its valued support in facilitating this institutional visit to Panama.
