London / Panama City, 6 August 2026 — The International Green Trade & Commerce Association (IGTCA – The Green Chamber) and the Panama Maritime Chamber (CMP) are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday, 3 August 2026, at the headquarters of the Panama Maritime Chamber in Panama City.
The Memorandum was signed by Mr René Gómez, Chairman and Legal Representative of the Panama Maritime Chamber, and Dr Issamary Sánchez Ortega, Designated Representative of the International Green Trade & Commerce Association in Panama.
The Memorandum establishes a strategic framework for cooperation between the two organisations in areas of mutual interest, including maritime affairs, logistics, international trade, sustainability, innovation, professional development and business development. It also provides a basis for joint conferences, trade missions, executive education programmes, business networking activities, research initiatives and knowledge exchange, while promoting Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles and sustainable economic development.
Through this partnership, both organisations will encourage closer collaboration between their respective members, strengthen international business connections, facilitate the exchange of expertise and explore opportunities for joint projects that contribute to a more sustainable and competitive global economy.
Representatives of both organisations highlighted that the Memorandum reflects a shared commitment to building stronger international partnerships between the maritime sector and the wider business community, recognising that collaboration is essential to addressing global challenges and creating new opportunities for sustainable growth.
Finally, both organisations wish to express their sincere appreciation to the Embassy of the Republic of Panama in the United Kingdom for its continued support in facilitating institutional dialogue and fostering the relationship that culminated in the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding. The Embassy’s engagement has played an important role in bringing both organisations together and supporting the development of this strategic partnership.
