London, 17 July  2025 | The President of the Republic of Paraguay, Santiago Peña Palacios, made an official visit to London, where he was invited to give a keynote lecture at the prestigious Canning Lecture, organised by Canning House, an institution dedicated to promoting understanding between Latin America and the United Kingdom.

During his speech, the Paraguayan president presented his government’s strategic vision, focusing on economic modernisation, attracting responsible investment, and sustainable development. Peña highlighted Paraguay’s role as a reliable player in the regional scenario, with the potential to lead the energy transition and strengthen international trade through a green approach.

The event was attended by the CEO of the International Green Trade & Commerce Association (IGTCA),  Juan Dávila y Verdin, who reaffirmed the commitment of the private sector to build bridges of sustainable cooperation between Latin America and Europe.

The official visit reflects Paraguay’s interest in projecting itself as an active global partner committed to the economic, environmental and diplomatic challenges of the 21st century.
